An established healthcare profession that uses music to address non-musical goals including: physical, emotional, cognitive, and social/behavioral needs of both individuals and groups. 



Music Therapy Services of Central Kentucky provides contract music therapy services for children and adults with mental, physical, and emotional disabilities. MTSCK therapists work to ease the pain and anxiety in a medical setting, create pathways of learning for children in a school setting, and improve overall health in wellness programs and enhance memory and cognitive skills.

Individual or group settings are available to meet specific challenges, needs, and goals or objectives.

Music therapists providing services for Music Therapy Services of Central Kentucky are college graduates who have earned a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an approved music therapy degree program. They have also passed the national certification examination and have the credential MT-BC (Music Therapist-Board Certified).  For more information about music therapy visit the American Music Therapy Association website.

MTSCK and Associates have also mentored several practicum students in their music therapy studies at University of Louisville, as well as providing supervision for music therapy interns in a university-affiliated internship site.


Lorinda Jones MA MT-BC, owner of Music Therapy Service of Central Kentucky, holds a degree in music education, counseling, and a music therapy certification from her equivalency work at Tennessee Technological University and internship at Evansville State Hospital. After 13 years of teaching public school music, Lorinda completed her music therapy training and began contract services in Hardin and surrounding counties. She is an active member of the state and regional music therapy organization, and has presented workshops at state, regional, and national conferences.

Lorinda and Music Therapy Services of Central Kentucky are dedicated to providing quality educational, entertaining, and therapeutic arts experiences through workshops, performances, special programs, or retreats, along with multimedia materials and products, to diverse audiences in diverse lands. In additional to ongoing school and medical settings, workshops can be tailored to meet the needs of the clientele. Clients that have been served in the past include:
